Hello everyone, and welcome to our first Travel Tuesday! Today, I am gonna take you to eastern France, to Strasbourg. I visited it in early July while I was staying at my friend in Heidelberg.

HOW TO GET THERE:
We went only for one day with Flix bus, and planned to take the last bus back but we missed it. So let me tell you some things about Flix buses. They are comfortable, you can visit most of Europe and the price if you book it in advance is quite OK. BUT it is not organized. You have to be at the bus station sooner, and have to triple check all the Flix buses coming in. Also, ask the driver where the bus is headed! On the bus we should have been, it was written the other direction, so we waited for another one. But it never came. So what did we do? After a day of walking around in the city, we decided to get a local bus as close to the boarder as possible, and we crossed it on foot! Yes! My first time crossing a boarder on foot. We went to Kehl to the train station, and bought a train ticket to Heidelberg. But of course, we had to change two times and one time we had to wait at least 4 hours. But, we arrived back to Heidelberg by the sun was up, so I call this a success!

WHERE TO SLEEP
Because we just went there for one day, we didn't book a hotel/hostel. But whenever I am traveling I use the Booking app, or crash at a friends place.

WHAT TO SEE:
1. Cathedrale Notre Dame de Strasbourg: simply breathtaking from both outside and inside. Finest example of Gothic architecture, it's the world sixth tallest church. Inside the cathedral you can find one of the prettiest astronomical clocks, and if you are lucky, the best lighting through the rose window.

2. La petite France: the historical center of the city, well known for the half-timbered buildings and it is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

3. Barrage Vauban: a bit different from the city center, but it offers a really nice view of the Ponts Couverts: the three bridges and four towers of the city.

WHAT TO EAT:
We wanted to eat a nice crêpe, but didn't find a good place with student prices, so we ended up eating hamburgers in a tiny local restaurant.

Have you visited Strasbourg? Don't forget to share your experience with us!
xoxo,
Saci
